J. Robertson is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in policy development and advocacy at the state level. In his previous role as Vice President of Development at Próspera, he worked to advance a groundbreaking governance platform for special economic zones. Prior to that, J. served as Director of Employability at Empower Mississippi, where he led successful advocacy efforts and coordinated coalitions to achieve significant reforms that expanded workforce opportunities for Mississippians. J. is a graduate of the University of Mississippi’s Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, Summa cum laude, where he was Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Political Science.
As a native Mississippian, J. has developed a deep affection for his adopted home of Arkansas, inspired by the state’s rich history and its boundless potential. Impressed by Opportunity Arkansas’s impressive track record, he joined the organization to contribute to the mission of improving the lives of all Arkansans. J. is passionate about working alongside policymakers to implement practical, evidence-based solutions that make Arkansas an even better place to live. He is driven by a deep commitment to seeing the state thrive. Outside of his work, J. enjoys reading, playing guitar, and staying active. He and his wife Mallory live in Lowell, Arkansas.
